Our Purpose & Process
THE CHURCH
Our purpose is to Love Jesus and Love people as we Gather, Grow, Give, and Go.
Our logo shows what is important to us. The four curves around the cross symbolize the movement each person in our church will experience as they move from Gather to Grow to Give, and to Go, all centered on the cross of Christ. The cross is central to us and conveys that because Jesus first loved us, so we too love Him in return and love the people around us.
GATHER
We desire to gather together for worship declaring our love for Jesus.
“But a time is coming—and now is here—when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such people to be his worshipers.” - John 4:23
At AEC, we believe God calls us to gather regularly to worship Him for who He is and what He has done. Through the Holy Spirit, we come with joyful expectation, loving Jesus and one another. As we worship, we welcome newcomers, confess our sin, and stand in awe of Christ’s redemption. Our dream is to see spiritual renewal in Archbold and beyond, where the Gospel spreads and discipleship multiplies.
GROW
We desire to grow together in loving relationships with God and His people.
"Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together.....but encouraging one another and all the more as you see the Day approaching." - Hebrews 10:24-25
We believe God desires each person to not only worship together but also grow in small group relationships. In these groups, believers learn unity, humility, and love as they study God’s Word, pray, and encourage one another toward love and good deeds. Our dream is that each person would grow deeper in Christ, strengthened in faith, and equipped for ministry both within the church and in the community.
GIVE
We desire to give together of our resources sharing our love for Jesus and His people.
"Each of you should give just as you have decided in your heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, because God loves a cheerful giver."
- 2 Cor. 9:7
We believe God desires a church that loves Jesus passionately and gives joyfully, recognizing all we have is from Him. We dream of AEC believers united in giving their time, talents, and treasures—living with eternal purpose, using their gifts in service, and stewarding their finances with generosity. We pray that needs within our church and community are met and that we experience great joy as we seek opportunities to give.
GO
We desire to go together to share our love for Jesus with our world.
“But you will receive power when the holy spirit comes on you and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” - Acts 1:8
We believe God is sending us with power to share the good news of Jesus with our families, friends, neighbors, and the world. We see believers building relationships, opening their homes and hearts, and inviting others to experience the life-changing love of Christ. Our desire is that AEC would be equipped—through gathering, growing, and giving—to go into the world and share Jesus.
